Mount Pisgah State Park near Troy is the keystone of winter activities in Bradford County.
      To get there look for signs on Route 6 near West Burlington. Travel north for two miles on Wallace Road (SR 3019) to State Park Road (SR 4015). Go east on State Park Road to the park entrance.

Winter activities at Mt. Pisgah include 10 miles of trails open for cross country skiing, snowshoeing and nine miles of snowmobiling trails. The park has an excellent sledding hill and offers ice skating and ice fishing on Stephen Foster Lake.Trails travel around the lake, through wooded areas, old fields, open farmland or rugged terrain.

Ice skating and ice fishing are permitted depending on ice conditions. Ice thickness is monitored at the fishing area and at the boat launch.

Stephen Foster Lake provides habitat for perch, bass, bluegill and crappie.

$5.00 donation benefits museum.
Hot drink and soup are available along with a warm fire.
Bring your own skis and snowshoes or rent snowshoe $12.00 (includes museum donation) on site from Endless Mountain Outfitters.

      About 1,100 park acres are open to hunting, trapping and the training of dogs during established seasons. Common game species are deer, turkey, rabbit, grouse, pheasant and squirrel. Hunting is also permitted on adjacent State Game Land 289. For complete information on hunting rules and regulations visit the Pennsylvania Game Commission online.

Snowmobiling Information

Snowmobile Trail Marker

A snowmobile trail on Armenia Mountain in Tioga State Forest, near Lower Mountain Rd., opens a day after the last day of Pennsylvania's regular or extended rifle deer season, and generally remains open through April 1. (DCNR trails may be closed earlier by the district forester).

During the season, DCNR operates a toll-free snowmobile hotline detailing snow and trail conditions updated twice weekly: 1-877-SNOMBLE

State Game Lands: Snowmobilers may ride on State Game Lands from the third Sunday in January through April 1 on designated snowmobile areas, roads and trails marked with appropriate signs. For more info search for "snowmobile trails" on this website: www.pgc.state.pa.us

Round Top Municipal Park near Athens is open from sunrise to sunset for skiers.
    
  The park has miles of cross country ski trails through forests and fields. Skiers will encounter some beautiful panoramic views.
     To get there: From Route 220 look for signs just north of Greenslanding and just south of Athens, Turn onto Wolcott Hollow Road. Travel 0.6 miles to Round Top Road. Turn right and continue to a stop sign at the junction of Murray Creek Road. Stay on Round Top Road by turning right. Travel 0.5 miles to the park entrance gate. The route is well marked.
